Riverfront night festival in Seoul offers taste of exotic Colombian culture

SEOUL, December 2 (AJP) - A festival showcasing Columbia's rich history and culture was held in southern Seoul last week.

Hosted by the Colombian Embassy in Seoul, the festival, which was held last Friday on Sebitseom, an artificial floating island along the Han River, gathered around 100 participants and distinguished guests.

They immersed themselves in the South American country's rich history and culture, enjoying its bountiful cuisine as well as live music and performances.

In particular, fusion band called Bibim Beat stole the night with their captivating performances featuring Colombian traditional songs and dances.

Colombian Ambassador to Seoul Alejandro Peláez Rodríguez expressed his hope that the festival would "inspire you to discover more about Colombian culture and see Colombia as a hidden gem in the world of tourism, waiting to be explored."

He also stressed the day's event is "the beginning of stronger bonds" between Columbia and South Korea.
