A key event in Dubai's annual calendar, Global Village is recognized for its vibrant performances and activities, as well as its role in supporting the city's cultural, recreational, and community-driven initiatives.
Running until May 11, 2025, this season is expected to break records with 30 pavilions representing over 90 cultures and featuring more than 3,500 shopping outlets. Guests can also explore 250+ dining options, enjoy 40,000+ shows, and experience over 200 rides, games, and attractions — each designed to enhance the visitor experience.
On opening day, thousands flocked to Global Village to witness the return of this popular outdoor venue, which brings together diverse cultures. New pavilions, revamped markets, and a new dining plaza were among the attractions for the latest edition, Season 29.
Emirati children Irfan Tariq and Hamdan Salem were among the eager visitors, arriving early to be the first to experience the opening ceremony and explore their favorite pavilions.
The festivities kicked off at 6 p.m. with a colorful ceremony featuring Yola dance performances by Emirati artists, a comedic clown act, and a lively parade of drummers and flag-waving performers. The crowd cheered as golden confetti rained down, marking the official start of the season.
Global Village spokesperson Maya Joud highlighted the new features of Season 29, which include 30 pavilions showcasing more than 90 cultures from around the world.
