SEOUL, October 16 (AJP) - The UAE will organize a second round of aid collection events for Lebanon this weekend, following a positive response to the first week of its humanitarian campaign.

Events will be held at Expo Centre Sharjah on Saturday and at Dubai Exhibition Centre on Sunday. The UAE Stands With Lebanon initiative has raised over Dh110 million ($30 million) since its launch. Last weekend, thousands participated in events in Abu Dhabi and Dubai, packing 450 tonnes of essential supplies for Lebanese citizens affected by the conflict.

Residents can contribute by bringing donations to the Emirates Red Crescent warehouse in Abu Dhabi's Musaffah district, ERC offices across the UAE, or Dubai Humanitarian warehouses. Financial contributions can also be made through the ERC website or partner banks.

The two-week campaign, launched on Oct. 8 by President Sheikh Mohamed, is in solidarity with Lebanon during the ongoing Israeli attacks. The UAE has already sent 375 tonnes of aid on nine flights to Lebanon.

This initiative aims to deliver a $100 million humanitarian relief package, with widespread support from businesses and the public. Sheikh Mohamed also allocated $30 million in aid last week to assist displaced Lebanese citizens in Syria, where over 200,000 have fled due to the conflict, according to the UN.
