SEOUL, June 21 (AJU PRESS) - Filmmaker Yeon Sang-ho is set to team up with Mexican director Alfonso Cuarón for his upcoming project, Netflix said Thursday. The collaboration is already garnering much attention among their fans.

Based on Yeon's popular webtoon series, "Revelations" follows the story of a pastor who believes it is God's revelation to punish the perpetrator of a missing case and a detective haunted by visions of his deceased sibling while investigating the same case. The story unfolds as they pursue their respective beliefs.

Yeon became famous for his hugely-popular zombie flick "Train to Busan," which attracted some 11.57 million moviegoers when it was released in 2016. In a country with about 50 million population, movies with over 10 million viewers are often considered mega hits.

Cuarón earned worldwide acclaim for his Academy Award-winning sci-fi film "Gravity" and Netflix film "Roma," which won the Golden Lion at the 2018 Venice Film Festival.

Yeon expressed his enthusiasm about the collaboration, saying "I am very excited to work with Cuarón, and I have even greater expectations for the project's outcome."

Actor Ryu Jun-yeol and actress Shin Hyun-bin have been cast in the film, and they are expected to begin shooting soon. The release date of the film has not been decided yet.
