SEOUL, April 08 (AJU PRESS) - "Prep.Pie," an artificial intelligence-based learning platform created by South Korean startup Mathpresso, will be available for American university students by the second half of 2024. The solution is tailored to assist students primarily studying business and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) majors.

Prep.Pie summarizes crucial information from a student's study materials and simplifies complex concepts. The AI platform also offers various quizzes along with thorough answers and explanations. The exam preparation solution was developed based on interviews with 300 students attending higher education institutes in California.

Mathpresso said the company plans to expand Prep.Pie to universities across the United States by the second half of this year. Since March 2024, Mathpresso has been providing the AI exam solution to students at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and the University of Southern California. The South Korean firm will accumulate additional English-based data to enhance the AI model's accuracy.

"By blending cutting-edge AI with our extensive experience as an edutech (education technology) leader in Asia, we're ready to bring a personalized educational experience in the US that is truly hyperlocal," said Mathpresso CEO Jake Lee.

Meanwhile, Mathpresso achieved its highest-ever sales amount of 17 billion won ($12.6 million) in 2023, marking a 60 percent increase from the previous year. The edutech company's math AI platform Qanda has amassed over 92 million users. According to market research firm Grand View Research, the global edutech market size is expected to skyrocket to $348.4 billion by 2030 from $142.3 billion in 2023.
