The anime, adapted from Naver's hit webtoon series by Lim Ju-kyung, known by her pen name Yaongyi, is expected to be available on American streaming platform Crunchyroll sometime this year, with an exact release date yet to be decided.
When the first season was released in September last year, the 13-episode series rapidly ranked among the top 20 most-watched shows on Crunchyroll, which has more than 120 million subscribers in over 200 countries across the world.
The hit webtoon series, which was originally uploaded on Naver from 2018 to 2023 and garnered over 6.4 million views, tells the story of a teenage girl who learns makeup skills to transform herself and gain confidence after being bullied because of her looks.
"As the huge popularity of the first season of 'True Beauty' suggests, webtoon-based anime are gaining traction overseas. We will do our best to make the second season even better," a StudioN staffer said.
