The blaze was reported at 10:26 p.m. on an Air Busan Airbus A321 preparing for a flight to Hong Kong.
Fire officials said all 169 passengers and seven crew members escaped via emergency slides while flames spread toward the fuselage.
Firefighters extinguished the blaze by 11:31 p.m., authorities said. The cause is under investigation.
Air Busan, owned by Asiana Airlines, is South Korea's fourth-largest low-cost airline by passenger volume.
The incident follows the Dec. 29 crash of a Jeju Air flight at Muan International Airport that killed 179 of 181 people aboard.
