SEOUL, January 02 (AJP) - The South Korean government will operate its largest-ever national pavilion at this year's Consumer Electronics Show (CES), officials said Wednesday.

About 900 Korean companies will participate in the world's largest electronics trade show, to be held in Las Vegas from Jan. 7–10.

The Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Energy and the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) will manage the unified Korean pavilion, featuring 445 companies, slightly larger than last year's 443.

Global giants such as Samsung, LG, Hyundai Motor and SK Group, as well as 455 small- and medium-sized enterprises, will also participate in the event organized by the Consumer Technology Association (CTA).

The Korean pavilion will focus on home appliances (18 percent), digital health (17 percent), artificial intelligence (16 percent), and smart home technology (12 percent).

KOTRA will host a pre-show seminar on Jan. 6 featuring speakers from CTA's industry analysis team and Morgan Stanley management. The seminar will cover U.S. consumer electronics market trends and startup investment strategies.

Twenty South Korean companies will take part in the K-Innovation Pitching Challenge on Jan. 8, presenting to global corporations, including Walmart, JB Hunt, and IBM, followed by networking sessions.

"Despite challenging domestic political circumstances, we've organized our largest national pavilion at CES for the second consecutive year," Industry Minister Ahn Duk-geun said, emphasizing the government's commitment to maintaining export momentum and credibility.
