SEOUL, December 29 (AJP) - A passenger who flew on the same Jeju Air aircraft that crashed Sunday reported multiple engine failures during a flight just two days before the fatal accident.

The passenger, who flew on flight 7C2216 from Muan to Bangkok on Dec. 27, said that the aircraft experienced several engine shutdowns before departure, Yonhap News reported.

"When I raised concerns about the engine shutdowns with the cabin crew, they dismissed it as a non-issue," the passenger said. "Other passengers also expressed concerns, but the flight proceeded after a one-hour delay due to airport issues."

The same Boeing 737-800 crashed at Muan International Airport on Sunday morning while attempting an emergency landing due to landing gear failure, killing at least 28 people. The aircraft was carrying 175 passengers and six crew members when it collided with a perimeter wall and caught fire.

The previous flight with the reported engine problems completed its journey to Bangkok without further incident, the passenger said.

Officials have not commented on any potential connection between the reported engine issues and Sunday's crash, which preliminary reports suggest may have been caused by a bird strike affecting the landing gear.
