Chinese port city strengthens ties with South Korea's Buyeo

SEOUL, December 26 (AJP) - China's eastern port city of Yantai aims to further deepen its ties with Buyeo, a small southwestern town in South Korea.

During an event on Monday that brought together media outlets from both countries, the two provincial cities agreed to promote mutual exchanges, highlighting the growing cooperation between them.

Representatives from government agencies, institutions, and media outlets from both countries attended, including Shandong Network Radio-Television Station, Shandong Radio and Television Station, Yantai's Publicity Department, Aju Business Daily, Economic Daily, and AJP.

Yantai and Buyeo, separated by the sea and just 50 minutes apart by plane, have fostered close relations since their sister-city agreement in 2019. They have since worked together across a wide range of sectors including trade, culture, education, and the arts.

In the first half of this year, a delegation from Buyeo visited Yantai, strengthening their friendship and discussing opportunities for further cooperation. In the latter half, a delegation from Yantai visited Buyeo and participated in various cultural events.
