Xi holds talks with Cambodian senate president Hun Sen

SEOUL, December 4 (AJP) - Chinese President Xi Jinping met with Cambodian People's Party and senate president Samdech Techo Hun Sen in Beijing on Tuesday, underscoring the importance of mutual support to solidify the strong bond between the two countries.

Xi said that Cambodia holds a significant place in China's neighborhood diplomacy and expressed the country's commitment to building a high-level community between the two countries with a shared future in the new era.

Xi called for seizing opportunities to advance win-win cooperation and enhancing the "Diamond Hexagon" framework to implement key joint projects effectively. He also reaffirmed China's support for Cambodia's role in international and regional affairs, particularly in promoting the interests of the Global South amidst global challenges.

Hun Sen praised the enduring Cambodia-China friendship, thanking China for its longstanding support in Cambodia's political, economic, and social progress.

He reaffirmed that China is Cambodia's most trusted partner and pledged that this relationship will remain steadfast through leadership transitions.

Hun Sen also expressed a commitment to enhancing party-to-party exchanges, deepening political trust, expanding cooperation across fields, and fostering youth and cultural exchanges. He pledged to work closely with China on regional and global challenges.
