SEOUL, November 28 (AJP) - Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba plans to visit Seoul in January next year for talks with President Yoon Suk Yeol, the Yomiuri Shimbun reported on Thursday.

"The most likely time for the meeting is early January, before the ordinary Diet session convenes," the daily said, citing government sources.

"As next year marks the 60th anniversary of the normalization of relations between Japan and South Korea, Ishiba aims to strengthen cooperation in a wide range of fields," it added.

But the presidential office here said nothing has been decided yet, although both sides have agreed to continue shuttle diplomacy by meeting at least one or twice a year.

Yoon met with Ishiba for the first time on the sidelines of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) summit in Laos in October, and again at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit in Peru earlier this month.
