Hosted by the Embassy of Ukraine in Seoul, the solemn event at the War Memorial of Korea in Yongsan, Seoul was attended by over 30 ambassadors from diplomatic missions, embassy officials and others.
The event included a moment of silence to honor the victims of the war, followed by a music performance featuring students from Ewha Womans University.
A photo exhibition held alongside the event revealed the ongoing tragedy and harsh realities faced by Ukrainians as they endure nearly three years of destruction and suffering from the war.
"Ukraine is now fighting not just for its own survival, but for the stability of the international order and the future of democratic nations around the world," said Ukrainian Ambassador to Seoul Dmytro Ponomarenko.
"The 1,000th day of this war is..... a reminder that the journey ahead will be long and challenging. Let us continue to stand together in the fight against aggression, and let us work to build a future where Ukraine is free, secure, and prosperous — where we can live in peace with our neighbors, and where our children will grow up in a world defined not by war and destruction, but by hope and freedom," he added.
