SEOUL, November 12 (AJP) - The Dubai Tram celebrated its 10th anniversary Tuesday, reaching a milestone since it launched in 2014. Over the past decade, it has carried more than 60 million passengers and covered 6 million kilometers, establishing itself as a core part of the transport network in Dubai, one of the biggest cities in the United Arab Emirates.

Operating at a 99.9-percent punctuality rate, the tram has earned a reputation for reliability and safety. Its route spans 11 stations along Al Sufouh Road, connecting major areas such as Palm Jumeirah, Dubai Marina, and Jumeirah Beach Residence, with a total journey time of 42 minutes.

Integrated with the city's Metro, buses, taxis, and cycling paths, the Dubai Tram supports Dubai's goal of making public transit the top choice for residents and tourists.

Globally recognized for innovation, Dubai Tram was the first to feature automatic platform doors for passenger safety and operates without overhead wires, using a ground-level power system. All stations are air-conditioned to provide year-round comfort.

The tram's 11 cars include compartments for Gold and Silver classes, along with dedicated cabins for women and children. Operations are managed 24/7 from a central control center, ensuring prompt responses to issues and enhanced security with surveillance systems.

As a flagship project in Dubai's transit infrastructure, the Dubai Tram continues to reflect the city's dedication to safety, innovation, and sustainability in public transportation.
