Xi proposed enhancing the strategic partnership with high-level exchanges and reaffirmed China's support for Malaysia’s independent development path tailored to its unique national interests.
“We should use this milestone and the China-Malaysia Year of Friendship to create a more substantial China-Malaysia community with a shared future, helping each other achieve development goals and contributing to regional stability and prosperity,” Xi said.
Xi noted robust connections at all levels since Anwar's first visit as prime minister last March.
He called for a stronger partnership in development strategies, including the Belt and Road initiatives and the "Two Countries, Twin Parks" project, along with new cooperation in the digital economy, artificial intelligence and renewable energy.
He also welcomed Malaysia's participation in the China International Import Expo to increase Malaysian product exports to China.
Anwar reaffirmed Malaysia’s commitment to deepening its comprehensive strategic partnership with China, according to the Chinese media.
“Malaysia upholds strategic autonomy and is willing to work closely with China in multilateral settings to safeguard regional peace, stability and development,” Anwar said.
