SEOUL, October 22 (AJP) - The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) revealed that the 10th release of treated radioactive water from Japan's tsunami-wrecked Fukushima nuclear power plant contains radioactive nuclide levels well below the country's operational safety threshold.

According to real-time data provided to IAEA by Japan's largest power generator Tokyo Electric Power Company (TEPCO) on Monday, the tritium concentration in the diluted water measured 460 becquerels as of 8:50 p.m., marking about 30 percent of Japan's operational limit of 1,500 becquerels per liter and significantly lower than the World Health Organization's drinking water guideline of 10,000 becquerels per liter.

TEPCO plans to continue the 10th discharge until Nov. 4, releasing about 7,800 tons of treated water, matching the volume of previous releases totaling about 70,000 tons since the operation began in August last year.
