The three-day event, which opened Tuesday, features about 200 companies from 80 countries displaying approximately 50 military and commercial aircraft. KAI is presenting its FA-50 multi-purpose fighter, KF-21 next-generation fighter and light armed helicopter.
KAI is also promoting its unmanned aerial systems, including combat drones and the Next-generation Air Combat System (NACS), which integrates manned and unmanned aircraft. The company has installed an FA-50 simulator at the exhibition to offer test flights to Air Force officials from the region.
Egypt, currently pursuing a large-scale advanced trainer aircraft program, is viewed as a key market in the Africa-Middle East region. KAI plans to meet with high-ranking Egyptian officials, including the defense minister, to discuss potential business collaborations.
"Egypt will become a crucial hub encompassing both the African and Middle Eastern markets," said KAI CEO Kang Goo-young. "We aim to successfully lead various defense cooperation efforts between Korea and Egypt, highlighting the excellence of the FA-50."
