SEOUL, Sept. 2 (AJP) – SM Entertainment, a major Korean talent agency, will debut its artificial intelligence (AI)-powered virtual artist nævis with a digital single, "Done," on Sept. 10.

On Thursday, SM Entertainment signed a memorandum of understanding with LG Uplus, a telecom operator, to produce various types of content, including music videos and short-form videos, for the digital human using LG Uplus' generative AI technology, "ixi-GEN."

The collaboration for nævis content is part of LG Uplus' project to apply AI across all areas of marketing. The company is airing the video content "The Birth of nævis," which showcases the narrative of the virtual artist, on its IPTV (Internet Protocol television) service.

"This collaboration with SM Entertainment provides an opportunity to offer a new digital experience to both LG Uplus customers and overseas K-pop fans," said Jung Soo-hun, head of LG Uplus' consumer business division.

"The value of LG Uplus providing customers with a new AI experience aligns with SM's goal of offering new K-pop experiences to fans through nævis," said Tak Young-jun, co-CEO of SM Entertainment.
