China, Russia pledge to deepen comprehensive strategic partnership

SEOUL, August 22 (AJU PRESS) -Chinese Premier Li Qiang and Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin on Wednesday co-chaired the 29th regular meeting between Chinese and Russian heads of government in Moscow.

Li stated that China is ready to work with Russia to strengthen all-round practical cooperation between the two countries and elevate the China-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership of coordination to a new level.

Analysts commented that the China-Russia relationship remains steadfast and can withstand external impacts and disruptions, continuing to benefit the two peoples through enhanced trade and comprehensive cooperation. China's stance of seeking peace on the Ukraine crisis will remain unchanged.

During the meeting, Li said China is prepared to follow the strategic guidance of the two nations' heads of state, and leverage the occasion of the 75th anniversary of diplomatic ties to uphold mutual respect, trust, enduring friendship, and mutual benefit.

In response, Mishustin expressed Russia's readiness to work with China in implementing the important consensus reached by the two leaders, further deepening mutual trust, and expanding cooperation in areas like investment, energy, economy, trade, culture, and sub-national affairs.

He also pledged to join China in strengthening communication and coordination on international affairs, better safeguarding their legitimate rights and interests, and advancing the bilateral comprehensive strategic partnership of coordination.

After the meeting, the two leaders signed a joint communique and a new version of the China-Russia investment cooperation plan outline. Russian President Vladimir Putin also met with Li in Moscow, stating that the countries have large-scale joint plans and projects in the economic and humanitarian spheres that are expected to continue for many years.

An expert from the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences highlighted that this was the 29th meeting between the heads of government, demonstrating that the China-Russia relationship has set a model for major power relations in a turbulent world, built on long-term, stable, win-win cooperation and solid mutual trust and respect.
