Türkiye's Presidential Symphony Orchestra to collaborate with Korean pianist for concert in Chuncheon

SEOUL, August 21 (AJU PRESS) - Türkiye's Presidential Symphony Orchestra will collaborate with pianist Kim Hong-gi, who is widely recognized in Europe for his musical talent, for an annual concert held in the eastern province of Gangwon this fall, the Turkish Embassy to Korea said on Wednesday.

The Turkish Presidential Symphony Orchestra, established in 1826, is one of the world's oldest symphony orchestras, renowned for its rich history and role in promoting both Turkish and classical music domestically and internationally.

According to the embassy, the orchestra will visit Korea in September to perform at "Music in Pyeongchang," an annual music festival hosted by Gangwon Province. The orchestra will perform with Kim at the Performing Arts Hall in the lake city of Chuncheon, approximately 70 kilometers (43.4 miles) northwest of Seoul, at 7:30 p.m. on Sept. 4.

The program will begin with the Asian premiere of Turkish composer Ferit Tüzün's "Çayda Çıra Ballet Suite," followed by Tchaikovsky's "Piano Concerto No. 1" featuring Kim, and will conclude with Dvořák's renowned "Symphony No. 9, From the New World."
