SEOUL, August 16 (AJU PRESS) - Samsung Electronics said Friday sales of its AI-powered home appliances have surpassed 1.5 million units from January to July this year.

AI-enabled products account for two out of every three appliances sold in Samsung stores over the past three months, according to the company.

The data includes 15 types of products, such as TVs, monitors, refrigerators, washing machines, air conditioners and robot vacuums.

The company attributes this popularity to the integration of high-performance AI chips, cameras, and sensors in their appliances.

Standout products include the Bespoke AI Combo washer-dryer and the Bespoke AI Steam robot vacuum.

AI TVs, including the Neo QLED 8K AI TV, have also gained traction, offering enhanced viewing experiences through AI-powered features such as image upscaling and sound optimization.

A key feature of Samsung's AI appliances is their compatibility with the SmartThings app, which allows users to connect and control multiple devices.

Such integration extends to energy management, with the SmartThings Energy service enabling real-time power consumption monitoring and optimization.

Samsung is running an AI Sale Festa throughout August, offering discounts of up to 50 percent on select models both online and in physical stores.

The company plans to showcase its AI appliances, including energy-efficient models for the European market, at IFA 2024 in Berlin next month.
