SEOUL, August 09 (AJU PRESS) - In a series of operations, Singapore's law enforcement agencies have apprehended four individuals suspected of selling fake products online, The Straights Times reported. The raids resulted in the confiscation of counterfeit items valued at over half a million dollars.

The first operation, spanning from July 31 to August 2, targeted locations near Aljunied MRT station and in Boon Lay. Officers seized more than 13,000 items, including perfumes, cosmetics, and household goods, with an estimated street value exceeding $490,000. Three suspects, two women and one man aged between 30 and 36, were taken into custody.

A separate raid on August 7 in the Admiralty Drive area led to the arrest of a 37-year-old man. This operation netted over 270 counterfeit bags worth approximately $40,000.

Authorities have emphasized the gravity of distributing and selling fake products. Under Singapore law, those found guilty of possessing counterfeit goods for sale could face fines up to $100,000, imprisonment for up to five years, or both.

The police have stated that investigations into both cases are ongoing, highlighting their commitment to combating the trade of counterfeit goods in the city-state.
