Under the agreement, LG will supply various charging solutions, including both fast and slow chargers, to meet diverse needs. The company plans to install over 50 rapid chargers in public spaces across Seoul by 2026.
Additionally, LG will introduce at least 10 robot charging solutions, developed in collaboration with Doosan Robotics, to enhance accessibility for disabled users.
LG's e-centric cloud-based management platform will provide real-time information on charger status. The company has also extended its service hours to include evenings and weekends, further improving customer support.
The partnership follows LG's June agreement with ChargePoint, North America's leading charging operator, to expand its EV charging business globally.
According to Roland Berger, the global EV charging market is expected to reach approximately $186 billion by 2030, growing at an average annual rate of 32.3 percent.
South Korea's Ministry of Environment plans to increase the number of EV chargers to over 1.2 million by 2030, a sixfold increase from 2022.
