Korea wins third consecutive Olympics title in men's team archery

SEOUL, July 30 (AJU PRESS) - South Korea's dominance in archery reached new heights on Monday as they clinched their third consecutive Olympic gold medal in the men's team event. The trio of Kim Woo-jin, Kim Je-deok, and Lee Woo-seok defeated the home team France 5-1 in a thrilling final at the Invalides.

This victory marks the third Olympic gold for Kim Woo-jin, the second for Kim Je-deok, and the first for Lee. With this win, South Korea has achieved its initial goal of five gold medals at the Paris Olympics, having already secured the women's team gold on Sunday.

The South Korean archery team has now swept both the men's and women's team titles at three consecutive Summer Games, solidifying their status as an unparalleled force in the sport.

The individual archery competitions will begin on Tuesday, with the highly anticipated finals scheduled for Saturday (women) and Sunday (men). The mixed team event will take place on Friday.

Facing a fervent home crowd, South Korea displayed remarkable composure and precision. Both teams started strong, tying the first set. However, the South Koreans pulled ahead in the second set with a near-perfect score of 59. Despite France's valiant efforts, South Korea maintained their lead and ultimately secured the gold with a flawless final set.

With this victory, South Korea once again demonstrated their exceptional archery prowess and solidified their position as the undisputed kings of the sport.
