SEOUL, July 29 (AJU PRESS) – Samsung Electronics broadcast the opening ceremony of the 2024 Paris Olympics on Friday using its Galaxy S24 Ultra smartphones.

In a historic first, the ceremony took place outdoors, with the athletes' parade held on boats along the Seine River. The Korean tech giant equipped over 200 Galaxy S24 Ultra devices on 85 parade boats to capture and broadcast the event live.

The company collaborated with the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and Olympic Broadcasting Services (OBS) for the project.

Starting July 28, the Galaxy S24 Ultra will also be used to broadcast yacht races, offering viewers an immersive experience of the competition.

For the live broadcast, Samsung conducted rigorous technical tests for about 360 days with over 100 experts. They developed optimized software to transmit the ultra-high-quality footage captured by the Galaxy S24 Ultra.

Additionally, athletes were provided with Galaxy Z Flip6 Olympic Edition phones to share photos and videos with family, friends, and fans during the parade.
