The company announced the project in Riyadh on Sunday in collaboration with Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Municipal, Rural Affairs and Housing and the National Housing Company.
The project, secured by Naver in October last year, aims to create highly accurate 3D models of major Saudi cities. Naver plans to leverage its ALIKE solution, which utilizes aerial photography and AI to construct digital twins of entire cities with an error margin within 10cm.
The initiative is part of Saudi Arabia's broader digital transformation efforts. Naver, chosen for its swift and scalable digital twin technology, will collaborate with Korean partners, Korea Water Resources Corp. (K-Water), Korea Land and Geospatial Informatix Corp. (LX), to develop key services such as urban planning and flood simulation based on the platform.
The project launch ceremony in Riyadh was attended by high-ranking officials from both sides, including Saudi Arabia's Municipal, Rural Affairs and Housing Minister Majed Al-Hogail, and Naver's senior executives including CEO Choi Soo-yeon.
