Pinkfong expands 'Bebefinn' franchise with theater, musical debuts

SEOUL, July 11 (AJU PRESS) - The Pinkfong Company, producer of the global children’s animation “Baby Shark,” announced the offline expansion of its “Bebefinn” animation franchise on Thursday.

Launched in April 2022, the animated sing-along series depicting the heartwarming adventures of three siblings and their parents, achieved immense success on YouTube and Netflix.

Marking the intellectual property's second anniversary, the company is launching offline ventures, including a dedicated Bebefinn theater at Popo Cinema, a kids' specialty venue, running from July 20 to August 18.

The Bebefinn musical, "Topsy-Turvy Family," will make its domestic debut at the National Gwacheon Science Museum from July 13 to August 25.

This musical has already proven successful in Hong Kong and will be the first K-character performance at Singapore's largest national theater, the Esplanade.

The animation became the fastest YouTube channel to receive a Diamond Button, reaching 10 million subscribers in just 14 months after release.

As of July 2024, the series has amassed 35 million subscribers across all channels, with 17.5 billion views and 1.3 billion watch hours. Available in eight languages, the content saw a 114 percent increase in views during the first half of 2024 compared to the previous year.

“Bebefinn” has topped Netflix charts in nine countries, including the U.S., and reached the top 10 in 24 countries. It also claimed the top spot in KT IPTV's domestic kids' content category and received recognition at the Asia Content Awards and Bucheon International Animation Festival.
