"Visually impaired customers can now access product information and freely order their menu items through voice guidance at any McDonald's store across the country," the company said in a press release.
The kiosks can be connected to earphones, allowing visitors to easily select their food even in noisy environments. Along with the names of the foods and prices, the device also informs them of the calorie content.
This is the first time a voice guidance system has been introduced in the Korean fast-food industry, according to McDonald's Korea.
McDonald's first adopted the device in its U.S. stores in September in 2023, and Korea is the second market to implement the system.
