SEOUL, June 25 (AJU PRESS) - Samsung Electronics announced plans to add four new languages -- Swedish, Dutch, Romanian, and Turkish -- to its Galaxy AI real-time interpretation service by year-end.

The on-device function currently supports 16 languages, including Korean, Chinese, English, French and Japanese.

Samsung emphasizes that Galaxy AI language models undergo both quantitative evaluations of linguistic features and grammar, as well as qualitative assessments of cultural knowledge and understanding before release.

The company's over 20 global R&D centers are working on language model research and development to achieve this expansion.

For Arabic, which mixes standard and colloquial forms with 30 dialects, Samsung Research Jordan collected diverse dialect recordings and converted them to text, enabling the AI to understand various dialects while responding in standard Arabic.

Samsung Research Vietnam developed a model to recognize subtle tonal differences in Vietnamese, while Samsung Research Brazil focuses on improving Spanish models to account for regional variations across Latin America.
