SEOUL, April 03 (AJU PRESS) - A total of 58 South Korean small and medium-sized companies are participating in the Vietnam International Trade Fair, an annual exhibition in Hanoi scheduled for April 3 to 6. South Korea set up a joint exhibition booth, presenting various consumer goods, including cosmetics and food.
The annual event, organized by Viet Nam's industry ministry, is one of the largest trade exhibitions in the Southeast Asian country. According to the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA), some 480 companies from 16 countries, including China and India, are taking part in this year's event, with an expected attendance of 20,000 visitors.
KOTRA said Tuesday that the trade promotion agency set up a special joint exhibition booth to support South Korean companies seeking business opportunities in Viet Nam. Out of 58 domestic exhibitors, more than 80 percent are from consumer goods firms specializing in beauty and food products.
Prior to the event, KOTRA arranged meetings with 190 Vietnamese buyers, including WinCommerce, the largest retailer in Viet Nam. KOTRA will also organize follow-up online consultations after the exhibition.
KOTRA said Viet Nam is an emerging market grabbing the attention of global companies. The country achieved high annual economic growth rates of about 8 percent in 2022 and around 5 percent in 2023. "The Vietnam Expo is an important event where domestic firms can extensively promote their products in the country," Lee Hee-sang, head of KOTRA's Southeast Asia and Oceania Office, said in a statement.
