While the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) mainly focuses on electronics including smart devices and home appliances, the venue is also the favorite of carmakers and component manufacturers who wish to boast their technology to a global audience. Many of mobility services and manufacturers were nested in the West Hall of the Las Vegas Convention and World Trade Center (LVCC) where the CES is currently being held.
Various items that range from components, finished products, and software related to Self-driving technologies are among the most popular topics that are covered at CES. Famous tech companies like Amazon and Google also opened booths at the CES to introduce their autonomous driving technology.
LG Innotek operated four zones -- the main Automotive Solution Zone, Camera Solution & Metaverse Zone, Substrate & Material Zone, and Power Solution for Sustainable Energy Zone -- at LVCC.
At the Automotive solution zone, LG Innotek displayed autonomous vehicle parts, camera modules, light detection and ranging (LIDAR) modules for the detection of nearby traffic, and radar modules for measuring the distance from a vehicle to on-road structures and pedestrians.
The electric component maker also revealed the world’s first high-magnification Optical Telephoto Zoom Camera Module, a high-performance smartphone camera module with super-strong zoom capability, at the Camera Solution & Metaverse Zone.
"Autonomous driving is a 'Blue Ocean' that enables core technologies of LG Innotek to show powerful synergic effects such as optical solution, substrate material, electronic components, etc. This is why LG Innotek prepared the first open booth in 'CES 2023' at the West Hall gathered with mobility companies and the reason for emphasizing the 'Automotive Solution Zone' as the booth highlight," LG Innotek said in a statement.
