ADOR said in a statement that the new album will be released at 6 p.m. (0900 GMT) on January 2. OMG is combined with electronic dance music and exciting rhythms. Ditto, a song in the album pre-released on December 19, gained explosive popularity for its calm melody. The music video surpassed 17 million views on YouTube.
Along with IVE, a girl group under K-pop band MONSTA X's agency Starship Entertainment, NewJeans is one of the most loved K-pop rookie girl bands in 2022. The band's debut song Attention entered Billboard's global chart just nine days after its release and the weekly top song USA chart on Spotify, the world's most popular music streaming service, less than 50 days after the band's debut. The girl band's second title song called Hype Boy was also streamed more than 100 million on Spotify. Targeting young children, NewJeans released dance videos in October 2022 with Pinkfong, an educational entertainment company that created the famous cartoon song "Baby Shark."
The rookie girl group was formed by ADOR under command of Min Hee-jin, a genius idol incubator who planned concepts for SM Entertainment groups such as Girls' Generation, f(x) and Red Velvet. She branded outstanding costumes, styling, and album covers while directing Girls' Generation members to wear jeans and white T-shirts in the music video of Gee, a hit song released in 2009. In November 2021, Min was picked as ADOR's chief brand officer.
All NewJeans members are teenagers aged between 14 and 18. The group is a multinational band with South Korean and Australian members. The 18-year-old member named Hanni is an Australian of Vietnamese descent. Danielle, a 17-year-old member with dual nationality -- South Korean and Australian -- was born to an Australian father and a South Korean mother.
