"SEVEN is a concept car that embodies Hyundai's design and technology visions for a full-size electric sport utility vehicle," the carmaker said, adding the concept car expands the spectrum of Hyundai's "electric car" experience provided by IONIQ 5, an electric SUV built on a dedicated electric car platform.

The South Korean carmaker launched its dedicated platform called E-GMP in 2020 to compete with global rivals including Toyota, Volkswagen and BMW that mainly release hybrid vehicles and EVs based on existing internal combustion engine models.

The E-GMP platform focuses on the actualization of spacious interior design, batteries for longer travel distances, and the seamless connectivity of technologies and services. The IONIQ 5 model won the 2022 German Car of the Year award in the "New Energy" category in October 2021. The best-selling EV model in South Korea can run more than 450 kilometers (279 miles) on a single charge.
Just like its smaller brother, the teaser images of SEVEN hint at the futuristic, spacious interior that used wood and fabric and the exterior resembling the look of IONIQ models.
