Lucy was created by synthesizing a face with an image of a real person to work as a show host on the metaverse platform that Lotte Homeshopping. Through cooperation with Megazone Cloud, a provider of cloud and virtualization software services, Lotte Homeshopping aims to expand the scope of Lucy's activities by upgrading movements and expressions.
Under a memorandum of understanding signed on October 28, Lotte Homeshopping and Megazone agreed to cooperate on cloud infrastructure operation and optimization, content production based on visual effects (VFX) and Extended reality (XR), research on technologies for a metaverse platform, and the joint development of services using AI matching algorithm technology.

The integration of live-action footage and computer CG elements to create realistic imagery is called VFX. XR refers to all digital environments created using virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR) and mixed reality (MR).
Lotte Homeshopping said it would actively promote the development and commercialization of various new technologies related to digital and metaverse platforms by utilizing Megazone's professionals and know-how.

AI-based preference-matching services are provided by global online shopping giants including Amazon, the world's largest ecommerce operator, and Alibaba, China's top online shopping service operator.
