SEOUL -- By upgrading its NeON module line, LG Electronics unveiled a new solar panel with an enhanced power output that offers carbon-free energy and long-lasting reliability for the "most reliable and efficient" renewable energy solution. The new product will go on global sale, starting with South Korea in April.
The new panel called "NeON H" features innovative N-type half-cut cells, delivers high power output, and comes with a 25-year warranty, LG Electronics said, adding it is ideal for residential and commercial applications as it offers carbon-free energy and long-lasting reliability in a package that delivers enhanced performance.
"Our new NeON H solar panel is the most reliable and efficient renewable energy solution that LG has ever created," LG's energy business head Kevin Kim said in a statement on April 7. NeON H utilized sophisticated negative N-type cells, unlike other cells that employed positive-type cells.
LG said the bifacial cell structure of N-type cells absorbs sunlight from front and rear sides and provides outstanding output, generating a maximum of 390 watts from its 120 cells while simultaneously minimizing power loss.
NeON H panels are guaranteed to operate at 90.6 percent of their original performance even after 25 years of continuous use, and the highly durable energy solution can withstand harsh weather conditions and is resistant to light-induced degradation, which is the loss of performance from exposure to sunlight in the initial hours after installation, LG said.
