SEOUL -- South Korean direct selling company Atomy has invited about 13,000 global members to an online business information session using a real-time video conference app to show the potential of the company's non-contact business promotion method amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
Atomy said in a statement on September 2 that the direct selling company has held "Success Academy," a business event designed to preach the company's vision and to lead Atomy salespeople to success, at Atomy Vision Hall in Gongju-si, South Korea on August 21.
According to Atomy, about 13,000 members from the world have simultaneously participated in the "On-tact" (hybrid word of "online" and "contact") event using a smartphone video conference app.

"Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, it is inevitable for the direct selling industry to seek new non-contact marketing methods," said Korea Direct Selling Industry Association's secretary-general Kim Tae-oh was quoted as saying in the statement. Kim said that Atomy's adoption of the new On-tact marketing method will be benchmarked by many other companies.
The company has been building up its know-how of On-tact direct selling for many years through the development of "Personal Platform", a membership platform that plays the role of a sales channel for individual members as well as a customer service channel. Atomy explained that through the company's On-tact business, the company's sales members can roll out their sales strategy using social media or by creating their own online shopping mall.

Atomy said its members can also share business ideas and strategies as well as encourage each other using the company's On-tact platform. Atomy signed a technology partnership with MOFAC, a visual effects (VFX) company, earlier this year to co-develop visual technologies to support its members. By using new visual technology features such as augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR), Atomy members can set up realistic online marketing strategies, Atomy said.
