The so-called K-quarantine vehicle was introduced for the first time for indoor disinfection work at Dobong District in northern Seoul. "The COVID-19 quarantine is a battle against time," Dobong District head Lee Dong-jin told reporters, describing the quarantine vehicle as a quick and efficient tool to block the spread of an epidemic.
With a length of 165 centimeters (65 inches), width of 76 cm and height of 136 cm, the vehicle can be used for the disinfection of multi-use and high-risk indoor facilities, the district said, adding convenient and efficient quarantine activities are possible even with a small number of people.
For a one-month test run, the district leased the vehicle, which has seven spray nozzles on the side and eight on the bottom and can disinfect up to 240 square meters per minute.
