SEOUL -- In a musical project involving various K-pop artists to engage in the creation of songs of different genres, rapper Zico and K-pop idol Kang Daniel collaborated with American DJ Steve Aoki to release a song that expresses the beauty of South Korea.
Starship Entertainment, a South Korean entertainment agency, said in a statement that "Refresh," the collaborated work between the two popular South Korean artists and Aoki, will be released on April 23. Starship is the key operator of "2020 Global K-POP Project", the musical project hosted by American beverage brand Pepsi.
Refresh, a song using traditional Korean melodies and rhythms, was co-produced by Zico and Aoki. The main theme is "FOR THE LOVE OF DAEHANMINGUK". Daehanminguk means "Republic of Korea" in Korean. Popular K-pop bands had participated in Pepsi's K-pop project in September last year.
