BTS new album certain of bit hit with brisk pre-orders at home and abroad

SEOUL -- A new album to be released by K-pop band BTS is certain of a big hit, with pre-orders at home and abroad reaching 2.7 million in less than a week.

BTS will drop its new album "Map of the Soul: Persona" on April 12. Bit Hit Entertainment said Tuesday that it has sold more than 2.68 copies for five days since pre-orders began on March 13.

The band will come back on April 13, starting with its performance on Saturday Night Live (SNL), a popular American late-night TV variety show which has been a highly desired stage for any artists seeking to up its reputation to a whole new level. Artists including Adele and Rhianna reached new heights in their career following their performance on SNL stages.
