SEOUL -- South Korea's top online security firm AhnLab issued an alert Friday against malicious crypto-mining codes planted by hackers in explicit adult games. Such codes allegedly spread through online file-sharing services.
AhnLab said in a report that hackers have planted harmful codes targeting adult game players. Once a game is downloaded, a malicious code will self-activate, the company said, adding that because the code disguises itself as a computer security program, it is undetectable. Malicious codes use computer resources to mine cryptocurrency.
Attacks by similar codes have increased as crypto-mining requires a long time. AhnLab said adult games containing harmful codes have been deleted from file-sharing services.
