SEOUL, Jan. 30 (Aju News) -- Prosecutors demanded a death sentence Tuesday for a 35-year-old impotent man accused of strangling a school friend of his teenage daughter after drugging her to sleep for molestation with sex toys to satisfy his sexual desire.
A criminal court in Seoul ruled that Lee Young-hak was found guilty of killing the 14-year-old girl in September last year at his home in Seoul. Prosecutors demanded a jail term of up to seven years for Lee's daughter for aiding her father's crime.
"We can not punish him by the feelings of anger, but we have to make a decision in order to prevent further damage and establish faith and justice in our society," prosecutors said, calling for a death sentence.
Lee confessed to using sleeping pills for his sexual molestation, strangling the ill-fated girl in an attempt to cover up his crime, and dumping her body in a remote mountain. At Tuesday's hearing, he apologized and urged the court to forgive his daughter.
Lee, who lost all but one molar because of a rare dental disease, earned the nickname the "molar father" after appearing on a TV show that sparked a social campaign to donate money to his family. He had led a luxurious life with donations and government allowances.
