Las Vegas Shooting that killed 59 people and injured 489 shook the U.S. and shocked the world. Only a couple days later, a man from Tennessee state was arrested Tuesday with 900 rounds of ammunition.
He was later identified as 42-year-old Scott Edmisten of Johnson City. The authorities pulled him over for speeding and found out he was driving with a suspended license. Edmisten was driving 55 mph in a 30-mph-zone. He reached over 80 mph trying to dodge the arrest but eventually was taken into custody.
According to Washington County Sheriff Department, Edmisten exhibited aggression and anger at the time of arrest. The arresting officers were shocked to discover .357-caliber Magnum, a loaded .45-caliber semi-automatic, a .223-caliber fully automatic assault rifle, a .308-caliber fully automatic assault rifle, and over 900 rounds of ammunition. He was also carrying survival equipment.
Although it brought concerns that there may be a connection between Stephen Paddock and Edmisten, the authorities did not find any connection.
The investigators retrieved four more guns and $6,000 worth of unopened ammunition from Edmisten's residence.
According to the police reports released, Edmisten lunged at the officer and said, "I know this is about CPS, and I promise you they will get the justice that is coming."
He was already on the authorities' radar because he sent "hostile" letters to the judges serving in Tennessee courts after losing the custody of his children.
Edmisten is charged with felony evading arrest, speeding, and possession of prohibited firearms. No bond is set currently.
