The West Virginia grandmother was arrested Wednesday and was charged with 15 drug related charges. According to the criminal complaint, Gay visited her grandson locked up in Eastern Regional Jail on September 2. The jail is located in Martinsburg, northeast of West Virginia state.

During Gay's visit, a guard overheard inmate Shawn Douglas Weister telling her to "go ahead". Weister was led to a strip search room in the correctional facility but he ran away. He yelled, "Run granny, they caught me.", as he was getting detained by the guards.

The investigators discovered 22 sealed straws containing heroin and other drugs from Weister. Gay was the only visitor.
