McDonald's will resume sales of Bulgogi Burger, a best-selling localized menu that was suspended for ten days after health officials detected no evidence related to alleged enteritis.

The American fast-food chain removed Bulgogi Burger from all stores on September 2 when health authorities launched an investigation into allegations that seven primary school students and their teacher suffered from intestinal inflammation after eating the menu in Jeonju, some 195 kilometers (121 miles) south of Seoul.

The investigation found that there were no hygiene problems in McDonald's Bulgogi Burger and ingredients at McDonald's outlet in Jeonju, the company said in a statement posted on its website, adding the Jeonju store was found to have met hygiene standards.

"We will resume the sale of Bulgogi Burger at all of our stores across the country from Friday," McDonald's said, reassuring consumers that it would bring in experts to carefully inspect its food processing process and continue to prevent any inconveniences.

Bulgogi is a Korean-style grilled or roasted dish made of thin, marinated slices of beef or pork, grilled on a barbecue or on a stove-top griddle. The dish is ubiquitous in South Korea from fancy restaurants to pan-ready kits at local supermarkets.

Separately, McDonald's has been locked in a high-profile court battle with the alleged victim of "hamburger disease", also known as hemolytic-uremic syndrome (HUS). Last week, Joh Joo-yun,  head McDonald's South Korean branch, apologized over HUS, promising to strengthen food safety.
