Graz is the second largest city in Austria and the capital of Styria State. It is on the UNESCO World Heritage Site and was titled Cultural Capital of Europe in 2003 and a City of Culinary Delights in 2008.

The city was an important center of commerce and trade in the Medieval era. It still boasts the rich architecture from the time.

Styria state is the star of Austrian cuisine and it is a famous wine producer. If you are looking to try authentic Austrian dishes, you can simply walk around the Hauptplatz to choose a spot as it is surrounded by many famous Styrian restaurants.

If you are staying more than a day in Graz, don't forget to do a driving tour of Styrian vineyard trail. 70% of wines produced from Styria is white wine made from three different varieties of grapes: Welschriesling, Weissburgunder, and Muller-Thurgau. Also, Schilcher, a rose, produced from this region is well known.

There are many interesting historical sites to check out in the city like Medieval Quarter, Schlossberg, Mausoleum, and Schloss Eggenberg.

Give the city about two or three days to fully take in the beauty of Graz and enjoy the Styrian cuisine.
