Domaine Carneros is known as one of the most beautiful wineries in Napa Valley, California. It was found in 1987 by Claude Taittinger of Taittinger family who is the distinguished Champagne producer in France. The Taittinger family began producing Champagne back in 1734 and boasts the long history and tradition of winemaking.
Claude Taittinger wanted to start a Napa winery to create a Taittinger style Californian sparkling wines. The estate he found is located in the mild climate area of Napa, California, perfect for growing Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes.
Domaine Carneros is known for its award-winning sparkling wines and its architecture. The winery's 2007 Late Disgorged Le Reve was praised as the best sparkling wine ever produced in the nation. The other most loved Domaine Carneros sparkling wines are 2013 Brut Rose, 2012 Ultra Brut, 2011 Late Disgorged Brut Rose, and 2009 Le Reve Blanc de Blancs.
The Domaine Carneros chateau was inspired by the classic 18th-century Chateau de la Marquetterie in Champagne, France. Its royal setting and atmosphere are perfect as wedding and special event venue.
The winery practices sustainable farming and has the largest solar system for a winery in the world.
The daily wine tastings and estate tour require reservations so make sure to reserve a spot before visiting. The daily tour rate is $50 per person and tasting rate begins at $30 per person. The tasting hour is from 10 am to 5:30 pm daily.
The wines can be paired with your choice of caviar, cheese plates, charcuterie, and smoked salmon.
This is not a pet-friendly winery and only allows service animals.
