A duet song "Rain" by Soyou of girl group SISTAR and Baekhyun of boy band EXO topped major music streaming charts Tuesday hours after it was released at midnight.
The song is running at the top of Melon, Naver, Soribada and several other major music charts in South Korea, pushing away a new song released by hit idol band BTS (Bangtan Boys).
Soyou earned her name as a solo artist with her 2014 hit single "Some" in collaboration with singer Junggigo, while Baekhyun last year released "Dream" with missA's Suzy.
"I'm so happy to hit the first place," Soyou said in a newspaper interview.
The duet song's sudden rise shocked fans of Boy group BTS, also known as Bangtan Boys. Their song "Spring Day" has entered the top 10 in the United States iTunes Music Chart and its music video has scored more than 11.7 million views in less than two days from its release.
