A story about a heroic Uber driver, Keith Avila, saving a 16-year-old girl from sex trafficking is going viral.
The driver picked up two women and a teenage girl near Sacramento, California and dropped them to a Holiday Inn on Monday. The women openly talked about sexually exploiting the teen, and Avila contacted the local law enforcement soon after they exited his car.
He then live-streamed his story on Facebook and wrote, "I just caught a group Child Sex Trafficking ring!!! No joke!!!"
Avila said in his video that police officers showed up "real fast" at the scene after he provided the room number. He said he was "fortunately able to give real address to the police".
The law enforcement was able to rescue the 16-year-old girl immediately and arrested the two pimps now identified as Destiny Pettway, 25, and Maria Westley, 31, as well as Disney Vang, 20, who paid to be with the girl.
Avila's video garnered over 153,000 views and shared 2,300 times since it was posted on Monday evening. He was also interviewed by major new medias including Fox, ABC, and NBC.
He later posted on his personal Facebook page, "Uber contacted me! Pimps account is deactivated."
