Korean film ‘Madonna’ awarded at Hawaii film festival

“Halekulani Golden Orchid Award for Best Narrative” was awarded to a Korean film “Madonna” at the 35th Hawaii International Film Festival last Thursday.

The thriller movie, directed by Shin Su-won, which features a story about a nurse, caught up in a family feud, fascinated the movie fans and the media at the festival.

Hawaii International Film Festival nominates only 12 films for its Halekulani Golden Orchid Award. The nominees were selected from 140 films of about 30 different genres. Madonna, the only Korean film among the nominated, was received with the grand award.

The film festival started last Thursday is due to close its curtains on Sunday, November 22nd. Korean films such as “The Throne”, “Assassination”, “Veteran”, “Right Now, Wrong Then” were introduced at the Hawaii International Film Festival drawing the movie fans’ attention.
