Singer-actress Suzy became the 791st member of the club as she promised to donate a total of 100 million won for the next five years, the Community Chest of Korea in Seoul said.
She made the promise during her visit to the charity organization's office in Gwangju earlier in the day, it said.
Suzy is the seventh celebrity to join the club. Celebrities who are members of the club include entertainer Hyunyoung, actor Kim Bo-sung, actress Suae, singer Hyunsook, Girls' Generation member Yuna and pop diva Insooni.
Since its foundation in 2007, the society has raised 87.5 billion won from its members to help the underprivileged, it said.
